When I was a child I wrote so much I developed a callus on my middle finger. But just as writing with a pen has bowed out to typing on a computer, studying and working 9 to 5 has seen my passion for writing get packed away in a dusty box. I am now using my middle finger again, this time to say “bugger it” and to open up that box to pursue a writing career.
Due to an oddity at my high school I was only permitted to study two languages at A-Level, and so French and Italian won out over English literature. Nonetheless, my BA in French and Italian Joint Honours and Masters in Translation and Professional Language Skills had me delve into the world of proofreading, editing and research. As well as working from time to time as a freelance translator of medical texts, working the aforementioned 9 to 5 job showed me the diversity of the travel industry as well as the general public. Simply put, I have writing and research experience in various fields.
In terms of my own creative writing, I completed my first novel at the age of 16. If you profess any interest in dinosaur soap operas, feel free to click on the relevant blog here.
For the remaining 99% of you, I hope you enjoy my posts and that my dusty writing skills impress you enough to hang around. Any feedback and writing-related offers are welcome, and I’d like to thank you for taking the time to stop by.
